I’m more curious about understanding more about “who” the Seattle Seahawks Pete Carroll IS more than breaking down the loss. I mean, *what* makes him the kind of Coach of such courageous leadership and accountability?
…Just listened to an interview btwn he and Brock Huard (http://tinyurl.com/mzhao5m) and find even deeper admiration and appreciation. He has such a conscious connection to his path of the here and now, and how important having a right mindset is.
Re losing to the New England Patriots he said something like:
“I know I’ll be all right. I’ve spent a whole life working up to and preparing for this for a long time now. Making decisions and choices that are not always right – yet are based on preparation and practice. The things we say, they (players) believe in their heart about how to get to this moment and these opportunities….and sometimes IT doesn’t go right.”
He further talked about the reality of the wins and (The Loss) to say that he’s reminded so clearly that it’s about the journey, the walk. “How you deal with it?….To lose is a “challenge” but what are you going to do with it? What’s the next step you’re going to take?”
