…This. It’s times like (parts of) today and the last 48ish hours that are exactly why staying committed to the #GratitudeChallenge is so imperative.
My husband and I just had a conversation about how hard and sometimes painful it is to embrace “life” and situations as they come. Why? Because while ignorance is bliss, there are no shortcuts to personal freedom.
I asked him, “What am I supposed to be learning from this, and this, and this?”
On the contrast and the rub:
It’s what offers us the ability to see our blind spots, glean another nugget of wisdom, find courage for tough conversations, shed another layer of that which no longer serves us…or even come into deeper relationship w/others or self.
I’ve been saying this for years…it is what offers us the ability to:
*MINE OUR TRUTH
*OWN OUR TRUTH
*SPEAK OUR TRUTH
*DRESS & AFFIRM OUR TRUTH
*LIVE OUR TRUTH OUT LOUD….with INTEGRITY
…Without integrity, we have nothing.
As we laid there talking about it….so many things came out for which I am grateful for today.
It seems that for every jolt I can find the silver lining…but it doesn’t mean it feels good.

The net effect?
It was a good day, I simply needed to remember! I was able to meet some deadlines, celebrate others, take personal responsibility for a mistake, deepen a few relationships, mine more of my truth…and feel refreshed after an inspiring convo my hubby, with my friend “Jack’s the Bomb”, and with an ol’ buddy at the VMAC.
