I feel like a fashion designer today! Was trusted to create my 1st custom J. Hilburn shirt on my own. Awesome value add for my existing clients…I popped into his office to inform him of JH’s line in case he knew of someone who had a need or desire for a custom fit….Before we knew it, he wanted to have me design something for him! Together we chose the fabric, but this lean build of a mortgage banker left me to pick out the collar, cuffs, general styling, & monogramming! …..He likes understated elegance so we chose this exquisite blue/gray herringbone pattern with a luxurious hand…100% Egyptian cotton. Literally he compared the fabrics to an exquisite past shirt we’d bought about 5 years ago which is still in his rotation…Canali, nothin’ wrong with that (we use the same mills as Armani, Zegna, Burberry, Polo RL Purple)! TIP: Before you make a decision on price, consider *value*. Consider how often you will wear an item and it’s cost per wear. While we’ve added fresh and new, many of my repeat clients are pulling out their dress shirts made of Italian fabrics from 4 and 5 years ago. To have shirts still in the rotation all these years later speaks to quality and value…The focus now is on honed fit.
